Professional Services

Scope of Practice

Our chiropractors are licensed by the College of Chiropractors of British Columbia and provide services within their authorized scope of practice, including:

  • Chiropractic diagnosis and treatment

  • Spinal and joint manipulation

  • Soft tissue therapy

  • Exercise prescription and rehabilitation

  • Lifestyle and ergonomic counseling

Standards of Care

All services are provided in accordance with:

  • College of Chiropractors of British Columbia standards

  • Canadian chiropractic practice guidelines

  • Accepted professional standards and ethics

Patient Responsibilities

Informed Consent

  • Provide accurate and complete health information

  • Disclose all medications, supplements, and health conditions

  • Ask questions about your treatment

  • Understand the risks and benefits of proposed treatments

Appointment Compliance

  • Arrive on time for scheduled appointments

  • Provide 24-hour notice for cancellations when possible

  • Follow through with recommended treatment plans

  • Complete prescribed exercises and home care

Communication

  • Immediately report any adverse reactions or concerns

  • Inform us of changes to your health status

  • Provide updated contact and insurance information

Appointments and Scheduling

Booking Appointments

  • Appointments may be booked by phone, online, or in person

  • New patients should arrive 15 minutes early for intake procedures

  • Emergency appointments will be accommodated when possible

Cancellation Policy

  • 24-hour notice required: Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee

  • No-show fee: Patients who miss appointments without notice will be charged a no-show fee of $[Amount]

  • Repeated no-shows: May result in termination of the patient-provider relationship

Late Arrival

  • Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule

  • Late arrivals may receive abbreviated treatment based on remaining appointment time

Fees and Payment

Payment Terms

  • Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made

  • We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and direct billing to approved insurance plans

  • NSF checks will incur a $35 administrative fee

Insurance Claims

  • We provide direct billing to most extended health insurance plans

  • Patients are responsible for co-payments and deductibles

  • Insurance coverage verification is the patient's responsibility

  • Unpaid insurance claims become the patient's responsibility after 90 days

Fee Schedule

  • Current fees are available at reception or upon request

  • Fees are subject to change with 30 days written notice

  • Specialized services may incur additional charges

Treatment Consent and Risks

Informed Consent for Treatment

By receiving chiropractic care, you acknowledge understanding that:

  • Chiropractic treatment involves physical contact and manipulation

  • Some discomfort or soreness may occur following treatment

  • Rare but serious complications may include stroke, disc herniation, or fracture

  • No guarantee of specific outcomes or cure can be made

Alternative Treatments

We will discuss alternative treatment options when appropriate, which may include:

  • Medical consultation

  • Physical therapy

  • Massage therapy

  • Other healthcare disciplines

Confidentiality and Privacy

Patient Information

  • All patient information is kept strictly confidential

  • Information is shared only as permitted by law or with your written consent

  • Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information

Photography and Recording

  • Clinical photographs may be taken for treatment documentation with your consent

  • No recording of any kind is permitted without express written consent

Clinic Policies

Respectful Environment

  • We maintain a professional, respectful environment for all patients and staff

  • Discrimination, harassment, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated

  • Violations may result in termination of service

Personal Belongings

  • The clinic is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings

  • Please keep valuables secure or leave them at home

Health and Safety

  • Please inform us immediately if you feel unwell

  • Follow all posted safety guidelines and instructions

  • Children must be supervised at all times

Limitations of Liability

Professional Liability

  • Our liability is limited to the professional services we provide

  • We maintain professional liability insurance as required by law

  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages

Third-Party Services

  • We are not responsible for services provided by other healthcare providers

  • Referrals are made in good faith but do not guarantee outcomes

Termination of Services

By the Clinic

We may terminate the patient-provider relationship for:

  • Non-compliance with treatment recommendations

  • Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations

  • Inappropriate behavior or violation of clinic policies

  • Non-payment of fees

  • Situations where we cannot provide appropriate care

By the Patient

  • You may discontinue services at any time

  • Outstanding fees remain due upon termination

  • Medical records will be transferred to your new provider upon written request

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.

Emergency Procedures

After-Hours Emergencies

  • For life-threatening emergencies, call 911

  • For urgent chiropractic concerns, contact our clinic phone number

  • After-hours messages will be returned the next business day

Continuity of Care

  • If you require care when we are unavailable, seek appropriate medical attention

  • We will coordinate with other providers when necessary

Complaints and Concerns

Internal Resolution

  • Complaints should first be directed to the treating chiropractor or clinic manager

  • We strive to resolve concerns promptly and professionally
